How the CPAP Guardian works

The CPAP Guardian uses an Ozone Sterilizer, similar to that uses by hospitals to disinfect their equipment and wards. It works by releasing Ozone (O3), a gas which kills living organisms and leaves your CPAP machine sterile and, crucially, completely safe to use. All you do is place your CPAP machine inside the bag, plug it in to the socket found inside and switch it on. Then you close the bag up and switch on the Ozone Sterilizer.

Ozone can kill almost all micro-organisms, including bacteria and fungi. In addition to this, is can also kill the odours that these microbes cause. As a sterilizer it is 30 times as strong as chlorine and 3,000 times faster - but without any chemical residue left over. After around 30 minutes, Ozone simply disintegrates into oxygen, leaving no residues or harmful by-products. And unlike other sterilizers it does not require you to keep purchasing more of the sterilizing agent - it simply takes regular oxygen and converts it into Ozone.

For ever more comprehensive cleaning, you can put in your mask and tubing in along the machine and therefore ensure that every part of your set-up is completely sterile and bacteria-free. The nostrils have small hairs which help prevent small molecules from enetering the lungs, but the pressure from CPAP machines overpowers them and opens the door for particles and microbes to enter into your body. Can the Ozone Sterilizer harm me?

No. Ozone is made up of three oxygen particles (hence its scientific name being O3), which disintegrate into regular oxygen after about 30 minutes of contact with regular air. So you simply switch the CPAP Guardian off, leave it for half an hour, and inside you'll find a completely sterile CPAP machine and some plain old oxygen.
