When you have a mask as unique as the CPAP Pro, then it follows that people are going to be inquisitive and want to find out more. We've answered many of the most common questions, but if the information you need is not on here or on the product page then get in touch and we'll be happy to help.
I sleep with my mouth open when I sleep, can I still use the CPAPPro?
As with any nasal mask, you should ideally sleep with your mouth closed during your sleep. The reason for this is that the air can escape through your mouth rather than entering your throat as intended, reducing the effectiveness of your therapy. If your mouth down has a tendency to open during your sleep, then you can combine the CPAPPro with a chin strap, which gently keeps your jaw closed and ensures your CPAP is as effective as possible.
Will CPAP Pro work with my exisiting CPAP or BiPAP machine?
The CPAP Pro uses the standard 22mm connection, which will allow is to be used with any CPAP machine that use that connection. Similarly, it can be used with any vented BiPAP system using this connection. Almost all CPAP machines now use this connection so compatibility is highly unlikely to cause a problem. The CPAP Pro cannot be used with any non-vented BiPAP systems, NIV or other form of breathing device.
What pressures can be used with the CPAP Pro?
A pressure setting of 13cmH2O or below is recommended for optimum results, but patients using pressures of 18-20cmH2O have also reported excellent results.
I have sensitive teeth, can I use the boil and bite mouthpiece?
Those who have serious dental problems should consult their dentist before using the boil and bite mouthpiece. Similarly, those with teeth sensitive to hot foods or drinks, or simply have concerns about using the mouthpiece, should consult their dentist before use.
How long will it take to become comfortable with the CPAP Pro?
The adjustment time depends on the individual, there is no hard and fast rule for the acceptance period. For some the CPAP Pro is perfect from the first night, for others it may take a few weeks to fully become accustomed.
