With the optional integrated, rechargeable battery, there’s no need to worry about the location of the closest power socket or the fear of an inadvertent power outage. The unique Everest battery will keep the system functional for hours without household current.
The Everest 2 rechargeable 12-cell Lithium-ion battery fully charges in five hours an can be charged in two simple ways:
- Connect it directly to AC mains power or a mobile power adapter (like a vehicle cigarette lighter) and allow it to charge until the green indicator lights are lit.
- It can be constantly trickle charged as part of the integrated system when plugged into a power source.
LED indicators at the bottom of the battery pack indicate its current charge. One fully charged battery running the CPAP without humidifier lasts approximately 5 hours at 20cm H2O and 11 hours at 10cm H2O. The operation of the heated humidifier will reduce the usage time by more than half. For increased usage time, two batteries can be placed inline.
Automatic Power Cut Back-up
The battery will contiously trickle charge when integrated with the CPAP unit and run off the mains power. Should a power cut occur, the CPAP will automatically switch to battery power.
The battery can be charged from solar panels and wind turbines if they offer a cigarette lighter type connection.
