Flexible frame and cushion gives maximum freedom & comfort
The SleepNet Phantom Nasal Gel Cushion CPAP Mask uses a novel cheek support system to give it support and stability. Some may remember a similar design being used on the ComfortCurve from Respironics, but with that mask being discontinued it's now unique to the Phantom. By gently applying pressure over the large cheek surface area, it eliminates the need for a forehead or chin support, both of which can be uncomfortable and result in sores.
Ultra soft gel cushion gives unrivalled comfort
This one-piece mask is designed around an ultra-soft gel cushion. Covered by a thin silicone membrane, it is far more comfortable and adaptable than regular silicone cushions. It can easily be squeezed and moulded into shape to fit your own personal facial contours and requirements. This mask comes in one size, simply because it is so adaptable that it doesn't need to be made in multiple sizes in order to accommodate a wide range of faces. To see a quick clip of just how mouldable the Phantom is, you can watch the video below:
The Phantom's unique use of cheek supports means the pressure from the mask is spread over a large surface area, minimising pressure points and sores. It also means that there's no forehead support, a key cause of discomfort for many CPAP users, and your line of vision is freed up, allowing you to read and wear glasses if you wish. Many CPAP masks are available without a forehead support, but rely instead on additional pressure from the headgear. With the cheek support, you get the best of both worlds.
The headgear is secure and stable, and with just two straps it's also easy to configure. The straps themselves can be put in different positions, to get the angle that you find the most comfortable and secure. The tubing can be connected on either side of the mask, and can either run downwards like most CPAP masks, or can be connected to the top of the headgear to exit above the pillow. To see a visual demonstration of the headgear and the options available to you, you can watch this short video:
