Privacy
As with Website Security,
Privacy is one of the most common concerns when ordering over the Internet.
At Intus Healthcare Ltd., we treat this issue very seriously and have taken all
possible steps to ensure that personal data, including any Credit or Debit Card
numbers are transmitted using industry standard SSL (Secure Socket Layer)
encryption. This means that the information being sent is first encoded and then
decoded when it arrives at our servers, so that no-one can 'eavesdrop' or collect any
of your personal information.
Code of Practice
We are committed to protecting your privacy. We will only use information we
collect about you lawfully (in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998).
Our business procedures and policies are modelled on the Which? Web Trader
Code of Practice and Internet Shopping Is Safe (ISIS) Code of Practice.
We collect information about you for two reasons: firstly, to process your
order and secondly, to provide you with the best possible service.
Data Collection
Please ensure when entering data that it is accurate. Any information you
provide us with via this website or via any other correspondence, will be
stored securely and confidentially in accordance with Intus Healthcare Ltd.'s
internal security policy.
As is common practise, we do store:
- Your billing and shipping address details.
- Your e-mail address and other contact details such as telephone numbers.
- Website usage data (though largely anonimised).
- Order history; when did you (attempt to) order which products.
Unlike some other merchants, we do NOT store (or even see):
- Credit or Debit card details.
All transactions are handled by WorldPay (a service by the Royal Bank of Scotland)
directly so your card details will never be known to Intus Healthcare Ltd. staff if the
order is placed online. What we don't know cannot be abused and what we don't store
cannot get lost. RBS monitor their systems 24 hours a day with highly trained and
experienced security staff. Your details are safe with Intus Healthcare Ltd..
You can check what information we hold about you by sending us an e-mail requesting
to confirm this. If there are any inaccuracies, we will correct them promptly upon your written
request. No personal data will be transferred out of the EEA (European Economic Area). In fact,
our website and database servers as well as all backups reside in the UK. If we do intend to transfer your
personal data outside the EEA we will always obtain your consent first.
Disclosure
We will not disclose nor sell any information we hold about you to any third party,
unless ordered to do so by a recognized authority or court order. Therefore, we
can assure you that should you receive any e-mail 'spam' it could not have originated
from any actions we have or have not undertaken.
E-mails
Information supplied by you may also be used to send you information about our
products, services and special offers from time to time, subject to any objection
or preference choice that you may indicate when submitting your details to us. If
we do send you any e-mail in the future, you will have the right to refuse any
further e-mails from us.
Typically, you can expect the following e-mails from us during and after the submission
of an order:
- Account details will be sent when you enter your address details on your first order only. This contains the
necessary instructions required to log in and monitor progress of your order.
- When placed successfully, you will receive an order confirmation detailing the order
and contact details submitting so you can verify that what we have is correct.
- Once processed, you will receive an e-mail with an invoice attached in PDF format. This
document is important for future warranty claims and order status enquiries.
- If applicable, based on what you ordered and when, no more than once a quarter we may
send you a reminder e-mail about product replacement, updates and/or usage instructions to
ensure you get the most out of your purchases with Intus Healthcare Ltd.
IP Address
An IP Address is a number that is automatically assigned to your computer. Web
servers (the computer that 'delivers' Web pages to your computer), must identify
your computer by its IP address.
Unless you sign in or place an order, we do not link IP Addresses to anything personally identifiable. This means that
the only information retained by our servers during a users session, is the Internet browser
type, the domain a user is accessing and the access time, simply as a means of
creating statistics reports. Guest users remain anonymous to us.
Cookies
Cookies are used to store a random string of characters or other computer-readable instructions
which enables tracking a user's movements and purchases whilst they are
active on our websites, so that the shopping basket has a means of identifying which
items they may require. The shopping basket will not function if the user sets their
Internet browser to 'reject cookies'. If a warning about cookies is shown, please consult
the help section of your web browser on how to accept cookies from http://www.eu-pap.co.uk.
