Regular bedding such as your pillow and mattress may not always be the most suitable options for supporting your positive airway pressure therapy. Successful sleep apnoea treatment often requires looking at other aspects in your life to see how and where you can make improvements.
Your pillow has the most direct influence on your therapy compliance. Soft pillows, where your head sinks in to, often interfere with the mask. When the mask digs in it may cause an uncomfortable pressure on your face or leaks may occur. When the mask sinks into the pillow, the mask's exhaust may also be blocked, causing CO2 build-up inside. These specially designed pillows for those who wear a mask at night avoid most, if not all of those problems.
