Amara Gel: Philip’s lightest gel full face mask to date
The Amara Gel is the latest gel mask from Philips Respironics, who are experts in this area of mask design. With the Advanced gel technology that Philips Respironics have utilised in earlier mask designs, a strong yet comfortable seal is formed which adapts to the contours of the face to prevent leakage and deliver the positive pressure.
The Amara Gel is Philips’ smallest and lightest full face gel design to date. Reducing the weight of CPAP masks allows people to adapt to the therapy quicker while also feeling less intrusive.
Getting the correct size of mask is essential in ensuring your nights of CPAP are fully effective in treating your OSA and with the Amara Gel coming in four sizes designed to fit over 95% of patients’ faces, the vast majority will find the perfect fit for them.
With a ‘one-click’ cushion attachment and streamlined design, the Amara Gel is easy to assemble after routine cleaning and maintenance.p>
The forehead support on the Amara Gel features a fine-glide button which can be adjusted to 10 positions to optimise the fit of the mask.
As with some of Philips previous masks the micro exhalation ports are designed to quietly diffuse the air away from the user and bed partners to ensure a refreshing night’s sleep with no disruptions.
The frame of the Amara Gel fits with all sizes and types of Amara cushions, including those of the earlier Amara Silicone. To replace simply align the port on the cushion’s front with the elbow on the inside of the frame and click in. Headgear and frames from the earlier model are also interchangeable.
Please note: The Amara Gel Petite and Small size come with Reduced Size or RS headgear. Medium and large come packed with original size headgear.

4 Item(s)per pageDefinitely a lighter weight Review by Brendan
Quality Website Information Comfort Ease of Use ValueThis is definitely lighter and has a better seal than the previous model but, if you have a goatee as I do, it's important to keep it shaved as close as you can tolerate in order to have a reasonable seal. As this is lighter it also might be better having the lighter and smaller diameter air hose that Philips offer with their new portable machines, and I'm going to look into this.(Posted on 24 September 2018)
Service and communication was excellent Review by John G
Ease of Use Value Quality Website Information ComfortI bought a large Amara Gel with fit insurance. It arrived in a couple of days as promised. I found the mask fit was too big so I informed them and they said return it with the prepaid label. I got a fairly quick refund and in the meantime ordered a smaller mask (again with fit insurance) which arrived quickly and is much more comfortable. The service and communication was excellent throughout the process. I would recommend the fit insurance for peace of mind.(Posted on 11 November 2017)
Brilliant I thoroughly recommend it. Review by JR
Comfort Ease of Use Value Quality Website InformationBrilliant. So much better than the one I was given by the respitory clinic it was very noisy & I didn't think I would ever be able to use a mask. My husband saw this model and it is brilliant, so much quiter and you get a far better seal with this one, far less air leaks and very comfortable to wear. Rinse through with soapy water daily for really good fit & seal.(Posted on 15 June 2017)
Unimpressed Review by Keith
Quality Website Information Comfort Ease of Use ValueThis mask is an upgrade of previous mask but not in my view an improvement. Cumbersome in use due addition adjustment provisions. In my case and I am an experienced mask user I was unable to achieve a useable fit. Projections from the additional forehead shield resulted in persistent leaks making the item unuseable..(Posted on 15 June 2017)
