Hybernite Superday - the universal Rainout Control System
The Hybernite Superday Rainout Control System solves the problem of condensation from your humidification system. You can now enjoy all of the benefits of humidification but without any of the drawbacks – it combines with any humidifier to create the complete humidification system.
The Hybernite Heated Hose simply replaces your existing tubing, and has its own power supply allowing it to be completely universal. Any CPAP system that uses the standard 22mm connection can be combined with the Hybernite, allowing you to get the very best performance from your existing humidifier.
No more condensation, far more comfort
The main drawback of humidification is “rainout” – condensation build-up in the hose and mask. The cause is that the warm air from the humidifier reaches the cold tubing, and the humidification condenses to water. This can lead to discomfort and gargling noises. The Hybernite Heated Hose eliminates this problem by keeping the inside of the tubing warm, preventing the air from cooling and condensing. The result means the air reaches you still fully humidified – and no rainout.
You may also have found your humidifier chamber is empty come the morning, because the humidifier is compensating for temperature loss through the tubing by increasing the temperature. By using the Hybernite, the humidifier settings can be reduced as heat loss is no longer as issue – meaning the water will go further and you can enjoy humidification throughout the entire night. Conversely, if you have had your humidifier on a lower setting than you would ideally like in order to reduce rainout, then you can now increase the temperature to the level that is perfect for you without fear of condensation build-up.
Humidification with regular hoses can also negatively affect the quality of your therapy. One study of automatic CPAP machines compared heated hosing to unheated, and the average pressure dropped from 10.9 to 9.8 when the heated hose was added. As the humidified air cools, it affects the air pressure. If you are using a fixed-pressure machine, then you may be receiving less pressure than you need as a result, making your therapy less effective. For automatic users, your machine may be able to run at a lower average pressure, meaning greater comfort. Using the Hybernite Heated Hose helps ensure your CPAP therapy is as comfortable and accurate as possible while using humidification.
Combine the Hybernite with almost any CPAP humidifier
The Hybernite Heated Hose System uses its own power supply, making it completely independent and able to be combined with any existing CPAP or BiPAP humidification system that uses the standard 22mm hose connection. These include M-Series and System One REMstars*, SleepCubes, S6, S7, S8 and S9 machines and many, many more. Virtually all CPAP machines now use this standard connection meaning that the Hybernite can be used with almost any CPAP system. If you are not sure about compatibility, you can email us or phone us on the Contact Us page and we will be happy to help.
The Hybernite Superday Heated Tube simply replaces your existing tubing like for like, ensuring no heat or humidification loss between the humidifier and your mask.
* System One machines should be running software version 1.45 or later - earlier versions are not recommended to be used with the Hybernite.
Please note that the Hybernite is not compatible with Fisher & Paykel CPAP systems, as these have their own integrated heated hose system. Similarly, it is not compatible with System One REMstar 60 machines that are using GB6T humidifiers (GB6H are compatible, however).
PowerPal adds convenience
The Hybernite uses its own mains power supply, and can be turned on or off at the socket. For convenience, you can you a PowerPal which adds a power switch at the tube end. This is useful for those who will have their Hybernite plugged into a wall socket that is difficult to access.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q. What happens if I connect the mask-end connector to the humidifier and humidifier-end connector to the mask?
A. The Hybernite Rainout Control System will function similarly as with the correct connection. However, to achieve maximum comfort and safety always connect the tubing in the correct direction, as instructed. If fitted the wrong way round, there is a chance that the power cord could get pulled out in your sleep, losing the benefits of the Hybernite System.
Q. Can I use the heated tubing without connecting to the power supply?
A. Yes, but the tubing will simply function as a regular CPAP tube meaning rainout may occur.
Q. Can I run the Hybernite Rainout Control System from a 12V source?
A. No, currently the Hybernite System can only be powered using its own power supply from a mains source.
Q. With what humidifiers or CPAP systems can I use my Hybernite Rainout Control System?
A. The Hybernite Heated Breathing Tube uses the standard 22mm connectors at both ends. This means you can use the Hybernite Heated Breathing Tube with all humidifiers to which a standard CPAP tube fits.
Q. How long is the warranty of the Hybernite Superday Rainout Control System?
A. The warranty of the power supply unit is two years, while the hose itself, which can be replaced separately, has a warranty of 30 days.
Q. Does the Hybernite Rainout Control System come with a UK or European plug?
A. If your delivery address is in the UK then we will include a UK plug, or if the delivery address is in the EU then we will include a European plug, unless advised otherwise by email or telephone.
Q. Can I use a hose fleece with my Hybernite Heated Hose?
A. Many people use hose fleeces to reduce rainout in regular hosing, which is not necessary with the Hybernite. However, they also make the tubing more comfortable to touch, which is also true with the Hybernite Heated Hose. However, we would advise avoiding using a hose fleece as it risks overheating the tube, particularly if the room temperature is above 30°C.

No more rainouts Review by GarakEase of Use Value Quality Website Information Comfort Pros: I like colder in my bedroom so rainout was big problem for me. With this hose there are no more rainouts even with higest humidifier setting.(Posted on 3 November 2017)
It's 3x cheaper the original heated hose for my machine.
Cons: It has no power switch and the plug don't seem to be durable enough for everyday pluging/unpluging. So some kind of switched socket is a need.
Rainout gone - If your suffer from moisture build up in your tube or mask consider this hose Review by GerryQuality Website Information Comfort Ease of Use Value I have been using the hibernate heated breathing tube for over 3 years and have recommended it to other users. Will all think it has dramatically reduced moisture build up in the hose and mask. I prefer a nasal mask so moisture build up was a big problem. If you are not using a heated tube and your APAP / CPAP use standard hoses, this is a simple fix for rain-out problems.(Posted on 17 August 2017)
Good with some quality issues Review by SimonWebsite Information Value Quality Comfort Ease of Use This hose does the job of reducing all the rain-out in the tubes and mask from my humidifier. The general manufacture is good. There is one MAJOR problem which is the ridiculously poor quality connection between the hose and the electrical plug in to it. It is flimsy, liable to snap where it retains its position in the hose, which mean taping it in every time once this small little plastic piece has broken, or of course buy a new hose when there is nothing else wrong with it and would have years of life left in it. Easy to fix - just change the connection design.(Posted on 6 October 2015)
Great buy Review by MelValue Website Information Quality Comfort Ease of Use Love it battery connector to hose is flimsy so you need to be careful but the heated hose makes all the difference no wet face in the morning or cold nose best cpap thing I've brought although as usual with these things over priced for what it is.(Posted on 10 December 2013)
Great Review by DeeValue Website Information Quality Comfort Ease of Use Hi(Posted on 6 December 2013)
I brought the heated hose a few months ago because I was finding that the air felt too cold even when the humidifier was on 5. My sleep unit doesnt do heated hoses I brought this one as I couldn't afford the one that my machine makers make for the machine.
It has helped a bit with the dry mouth problem a bit.

Great help for keeping the air warm Review by DeeNJaiValue Website Information Quality Comfort Ease of Use Hi(Posted on 2 December 2013)
I have been using the heated hose for six to eight weeks now as I was finding the air coming out the APAP was feeling too cold even when the humidifier was switched to the highest setting. I decided to buy this one because the cost of the one what fits my machine was £200 where for the this tube and power pack it was £60.00. Unfortunately my sleep unit doesnt supply them so I didnt have a choice. Why do some unit supply them and other don't. The only thing I would be worried is with the connection from the power pack and the heated tube as it doesnt look that strong but hopefully it will last the year for the hose and two years for the pack.

connector needs re-designing Review by dravidioWebsite Information Quality Comfort Ease of Use Value This is an update. Since the last review I have had to replace the tube a further two times with the same problem(Posted on 23 December 2012)
Can't do without it, but easily broken. Review by dravidioEase of Use Value Website Information Quality Comfort I replaced my old Aussie hose with this one - and it worked fine - but i accidentally stepped on it and broke the battery connector to the hose - which is really a flimsy affair. Have to replace the whole thing. It does what it should but you should be careful with it as it is rather flimsy.(Posted on 25 January 2012)
A most excellent product - a winter 'must have' for PAPers. Review by Tigers FanWebsite Information Quality Comfort Ease of Use Value Been a long time coming but here at last and well worth the wait!(Posted on 28 May 2011)
On opening the box - the hose is very well presented - it is immediately obvious that this heated hose is a much better engineered product than the Aussi Hose (blessings for the winters it has served me!).
The hose is uncovered so you can see its construction - robust and tightly coiled heating element. The end cuffs are of hard plastic instead of rubber, which makes for a good, strong bond between the hose and the cuff and a secure electrical connection. Power is plugged into the humidifer end cuff with a neat little plug and socket with a safety catch. Power is 12v 2.0A dc from a 110 - 220V 50 -60 Hz input transformer. The hose draws 18W max so it will cope withh the coldest nights.
The hard cuffs make a secure fit with my CPAP and mask but are easy to separate again for washing the hose and mask. The hose is 'lively' due to the heating element coils and a hose huggy is essential for calming the hose as well as preserving its heat. (As a sales point, Intus might consider supplying the heated hoses complete with huggies, in a choice of colours, of course.)
The hose heats quickly so a minute of two before you climb into bed should suffice. One of those radio controlled power sockets is a good idea - switch the hose on and off from bed.) And that is that - no more rain-out, no more cold noses.
My Hybernite Heated Hose is now the hose of choice and the Aussi heated hose has been transferred to travelling duties.
Well done! to Intus - this is a great product.
