Full face CPAP therapy with the freedom of a nasal pillows mask

The ResMed Mirage Liberty Full Face CPAP Mask is a minimal contact mask. It has less skin contact than conventional full face masks, giving a level of freedom rarely seen in this area of CPAP therapy. It offers a great level of stability and comfort without impeding your line of vision or requiring a chin strap. It comes in two sizes based on the facial cushion, but both sizes come with three pairs of pillows in small, medium and large, to help ensure that optimal fit.

The Mirage Liberty uses a combination of dual-wall cushion around the mouth and nasal pillows to help provide an excellent seal with minimal facial contact. The dual-wall facial cushion adapts to your facial contours and even accommodates jaw movements, eliminating the need for a chin strap, while the nasal pillows can adapt to different heights, angles and nasal contours.

Less mask, more freedom

The Mirage Liberty's diffuser is a series of holes on either side of the interface, allowing air to naturally and quietly escape. The quick release straps and elbow make getting up quick and easy, without having to readjust the straps and switch your CPAP system off each time. An anti-asphyxia valve allows you to continue to breathe naturally if the airflow becomes obstructed, giving greater peace of mind.

As well as having minimal facial contact, the Mirage Liberty is also one of the lightest full face CPAP masks available, further enhancing the feeling of freedom that this interface provides. You're free to wear glasses and watch TV while wearing it, and is also more forgiving for side sleepers than many of its rivals. For those who require full face therapy but want to avoid the obtrusiveness that is often associated with it, the ResMed Mirage Liberty provides a great alternative to conventional masks.

Will the Mirage Liberty work with my current CPAP machine?

ResMed's Mirage Liberty will work with all current CPAP machines on the market.

Clicking on the Download tab will provide you to a link to download ResMed's Mirage Liberty sizing guide. We recommend printing this document out and lining it up with your face so you will be able to judge if you need either the small or large version of the Mirage Liberty.

Will I need to provide any medical history before placing an order on the Mirage Liberty?

Not at all, we only ask for medical documentation if you are attempting to purchase a CPAP machine. All other products on our online store will be able to be purchased freely as part of a self-diagnosed declaration.

What is the best way to keep my Mirage Liberty clean?

Our best piece of advice in regards to cleaning your Mirage Liberty Full Face mask would be to wash it on a daily basis to avoid the mask harbouring any bacteria.

The cleaning method we would suggest would be to wash and rinse the mask gently in warm soapy water, this will avoid the mask being damaged and will keep it's effectiveness while you use it for CPAP therapy.

Soap wise we would avoid using any antibacterial or bleach based soaps as this can degrade the silicone cushions and lessen the Mirage Liberty's effectiveness.

Lastly we would also suggest picking up some CPAP Mask Wipes which will maintain cleanliness of your CPAP mask and avoid any bacteria being harboured in your Mirage Liberty.

A Real Step Forward Review by Rob

It was a daunting situation having been told I would have to use a mask for ever. There are so many masks out there and it seems that we get little, real- guidance from "the experts" and we are left to find our own solutions in selecting the right mask. This can be an expensive business and in the last 18 months I have tried 7 full face masks - very costly!.

I searched several sites before coming across this one. I should particularly like to praise Liam Brown at Intus for all his help, advice and patience. This is backed up by an excellent service; Liam phones back when he says he will and the products arrive on time.

The problem I had with the more rigid full face masks was leakage of air which dried my eyes and caused a severe redness on my face, which has been very sore and uncomfortable no matter what the weather. This mask is a real improvement for me and I am getting good quality sleep at last. I find some nights are better than others and it depends on tiredness, mood and indeed the slight changes in face contour that take place. I therefore alternate this mask with the Philips Dreamwear Nasal Mask for the perfect solution.

After months of using different types of full face mask's with no success
( I kept having leakage around the top of my nose resulting in a poor sleep patten, as I was constantly adjusting the mask to stop the leaks and when I did drop off to sleep I awoke with dry eyes.) The nurse noticed a slight bend at the top of my nose from breaking it many years ago and I was given a larger face mask and was told if this did not work I should think about using a mask that completely cover my face which I really did fancy.

After reading about the Hybrid face mask and the above reviews, I asked too try one. The nurse was reluctant to let me have one as she said patients did not have very good success with them. But after a bit more nagging and wingeing she give in and issued me with one.

The first time I used it, it was a bit figgily to fit for the first time making sure the nose pillow fitted correctly ( you need to try the 3 sizes given with the mask to find the right ones, which i can only assume why the other patients give up on them)

The result was one of the best night sleepI had in ages. It was a lot quieter than all the other masks ( you did not should like Darth Vader making a naughty telephone call ). There was no leaks and no dry eyes in the morning....Fantastic ! The only moan was some pressure on the top of the septum from the mask, but with a little fine adjustment went.

Hated This Mask Review by Wesley

Was NOT purchased from this website. The Mask was issued to me after the RedMed Mirage Quattro mask damaged the bridge of my nose so needed an alternative.

This mask was so awkward to put on and the nasal pillow are so flimsy that they would not stay in position and would move when air is passing through. I had to hold these in place by fabric tape, still with air leaking from the pillows.

This mask helped my nose but was too troublesome and was always waking up. I lost my patients with this mask and gave it back after resorting back to my original mask (Mirage Quattro).

This mask had so much potential but the nasal pillows were the biggest issue. Every night the mask did not fit the same, you have to start the process all again. Each night took 30-minutes to prepare, but would not sit comfortable no matter what I did.

Finally! Review by Dr Ric

My fifth mask in 3-months: EU-PAP love me, bank manager not so much.

All previous masks were full face and all caused skin lesions on the bridge of my nose or had leaks that directed air into my eyes all night, with the joy of resultant dry eyes.

It took some experimentation with nasal pillows for me - now have large in right nostril, medium in left (who would believe nostrils could be so different on the same nose?!).

Love the lack of leaks, quiet in use, can safely put my reading glasses on when wearing... Well, pretty much everything really.

Just as well I found this hybrid mask when I did, £600+ investment in masks! most of it straight down the pan (private patient due to dire local NHS provision).

Staff at EU-PAP fab and very helpful also.

No hesitation in recommending for anyone struggling to find mask that fits or is comfortable, but be prepared to mix and match nose pillow sizes.

The elbow is very delicate, the clip can break when in use resulting the elbow and hose comes off when in use. the cost of a new elbow is about £15 in the USA but in the uk they are not available, Uk retailers suggest buying a new mask at over £100?

Quiet and not intrusive. Large face mask, medium nasal pillow Review by RedKez

I tried 2 other masks first, Fisher & Paykel Forma Full Face (large) and a ResMed Mirage (large) but didn't find they fitted my face well enough and made a lot of noise as a consequence, and I felt like my head was totally enveloped. I like this Liberty very much - at first I wasn't fitting it on quite right and I was getting air blowing out, but once I'd got that sorted its worked well - the instructions weren't the best of the ones I've tried. I was putting it too low on my face. I then found I had the head gear too loose. At my last check up I had no leaks at all. Occasionally I don't get the nasal pillows fitted right and have to sort them out, otherwise its easy to put on and very easy to remove. That you can go to the toilet without having to remove the mask is very helpful. The mask and head gear feel light, and minimal. I sleep on my side and it doesn't get in the way. I find it very quiet - if I press the ramp button on my machine I hold my hand infront of the mask to be sure I didn't press the off button its so quiet. Compared to that it makes more noise at maximum, but not much and not enough to stop me going back off to sleep.
