Introducing the Brevida Nasal Pillows Mask

The Brevida features an innovative AirPillow seal which inflates to form a soft ‘pillow’ of air, while firmly sealing in and around the nose. The Brevida mask has been made user-friendly with a simple to adjust headgear strap. With velcro adjustment points, the user can easily tighten or loosen the fit of the mask until it feels comfortable and secure. The adjustable headgear also ensures that your mask is kept firmly in place while you sleep to ensure you are getting the intended therapy desired.

For light sleepers, the Brevida Nasal Pillows CPAP mask really is a great solution. Housing a washable diffuser on the bridge of the nose, noise and air draft can be reduced. The durable diffuser can be washed easily ensuring maximum hygiene levels can be kept.

The Brevida mask incorporates VisiBlue highlights, which are subtle colour cues that enhance the user friendly design, helping the patient with daily mask use. Watch the video below to see just how easy it is to fit and clean your Brevida mask.

Highly Recommend. This replaced an earlier F&P mask I was using that was discontinued. That previous one was the second mask I tried. The very first mask did not suit me at all. So I looked again. I was keen to have the minimum amount of equipment on my face. The nasal pillow masks are the least intrusive generally. The don’t cover the mouth so you need to breathe through your nose. That was not how I breathed at the time. I wore a strap that stopped my mouth falling open and used a decongestant to help keep my nose clear. Over a few nights my body adjusted and I now sleep easily with my mouth closed except when I have a heavy cold. The interesting thing is once you get the air moving through your nose it becomes less sensitive and helps keep the sinuses open. It takes a bit of patience but it worked so well for me. This mask is light and stays in place well. The seal is good and you can adjust it finely as things change slowly over time. It is a lot of money for the manufacturing cost but it is a similar price to the others so we have limited options. I have found this mask to do the job really well. It lasts a long time and you can get be spares if any of the parts fail early. The introduction of CPAP improved my life enormously and these masks are en essential part of the happening.

Better than a full mask. I am finding this nasal pillow mask much better than the full face masks I have been previously trying to sleep with. The nasal mask is more comfortable and far less likely to leak. I’m actually getting up to five hours sleep with it, which is the best I’ve achieved with a CPAP machine so far. However, don’t bother with the Philips chin strap which I bought at the same time as it is not suitable for this mask.

Superb comfort and lightness. F&P Brevida review

For a while now I’ve found nasal pillows the best way to get comfortable with CPAP therapy. I’ve tried many options from many manufactures and of them the Resmed P10 stood out for its simple headgear and the F&P Pilairo for its clever nasal cushion.

The problem with the Pilairo was the construction. The elastic headband was OK but sometimes unclipped, and the cushion came loose from the elbow regularly in then night, which at best was noisy and at worst stopped the airflow.

Brevida seems to be designed to address all these issues. It has a clip in cushion that is of similar design to the Pilairo, covering the end of the nose and with two soft cones that go inside the nostrils, and has a nice split headband with easy adjustment that can be worn as a single or a split band.

Venting is through a diffuser making it very quiet and not blasting your partner, but unlike the old Pilairo Q this diffuser is washable.

In use this is a remarkably comfortable mask, with an amazing seal as it inflates slightly inside the nostrils. The headgear keeps it in place extremely well all night and the whole assembly is small and light making sleeping in any position possible.

Users coming from another type of mask may want to alternate for a few nights as the mask touches the inside of the nose which is easily irritated but any irritation goes away after a few nights.

The parts disassemble easily for cleaning, headgear is clipped to the ‘frame’ and the cushion clips securely but easily on and off.

Overall this has now overtaken the P10 as my favourite mask, its silence and effectiveness are brilliant, and it’s lightness and low profile make it easy to live with.

easy to use and clean. I switched from the Amara View to try this mask, even though I always woke up with my mouth open I thought I’d try a nasal pillow. I am getting lower AHI with this, the air goes directly to your nostrils, no leaks, and my mouth stays closed all night, no dry throat, sore teeth etc. Simple to take apart to clean. The straps are thin and prone to slipping, but you can rig something else up yourself if it would bother you, I ignore it and it has never come off during the night. The video on how to use this mask is very good.

just a guy who cannot breath at night

best one i’ve used so far. a couple of years ago, i switched from a facemask to a nasal pillow – the ResMed P10 – to be exact. I preferred the nasal pillows overall, especially since I have an auto adjusting cpap. The P10’s are great at first (I bought 2 over the years) but, like a lot of reviews mention, the straps get loose and the seal suffers. More importantly, I found that after time, exhalation became increasingly difficult. I’d have to exhale through my mouth in order to catch my breath on occasion, and no amount of cleaning the ultra fine mesh seemed to help. So, I decided to try these. They’re better! The pillows are actually more comfortable and it’s easier to tell right-side-up from upside-down in the dark. The tube has a rotating elbow. The straps are adjustable. And finally, the exhaust port is more substantial and has replaceable filters. All in all, this should be on your list ahead of the P10’s if you have any of the concerns I’ve highlighted. Sweet dreams.

Revelation. I’ve been using CPAP for two yrs. I had been using a full face mask but after two yrs of painful cheek bones and permanent face marks not to mention leaks and uncomfortable sleeps I searched for something else. I briefly tried the nasal mask which still covered my mouth as I’m a mouth breather but the nasal prongs hurt too much. I read up on this one and watched a YouTube video and decided I’d nothing to lose by trying. I also bought a chin strap. The first night was so peaceful, it’s so quiet and I checked a few times to make sure it was switched on. I woke up feeling more refreshed in over a year. I have now been using for three weeks and I love it. The rubber is so soft and gentle and its leaves no marks as I don’t have to pull it tight to stop leakS. The head strap is two thin straps which don’t cause neck pain like the other head straps. They also have ridges on them which stops the straps slipping and loosening. I would say to anyone even mouth breathers give it a go. It’s a breakthrough as far as I’m concerned.

Solves some of the problems of the Pilairo Q but creates new ones. This is my third nasal mask. The one immediately preceding this was the Pilairo Q. The Pilairo Q was an excellent and comfortable mask with one flaw: the nasal pillow is secured in place by stretching the opening of the pillow over the mouth of the air tube. After time this method of securing the pillow would work less and less with the pillow becoming dislodged on a note Myers of occasions during the night. When I saw the video for this product I thought my problems were answered. The pillow for the Brevida mask has a far more secure method of fixing.

This has proved to be the case in practice with the pillow being in place all night – no problem. Comfort is great and the mask as subtle as these thing get.

However, I find the spacing between the two pillows is not large enough (I did order the largest size). This results in one of the pillows being push into an inverted position i.e. Pointed into the mask instead of into the nose. This breaks the seal with result loss of pressure and hissing noise. There is not much visible difference from the Pilairo Q but I never has this problem with that mask.

In summary, it quite good but, like my previous two masks, still tends to require adjustment/readjustment in the night.

Great comfortable mask with no leaks. Easy on and off mask which is very comfortable and a great fit into the nostrils and is really good for anyone that is claustrophobic. No feeling of being smothered and its easy to move your head around with this mask on and get comfortable on the pillow.

Only one issue I have is the price of these masks as I would really like to have a spare one to call upon but the price is the only barrier. Is it worth the money? Well I need it so unfortunately that is were they have me because once I see something that will help me get a good nights sleep then I’ve just got to have it. Love the mask, don’t love the price!

Brevida Nasal Pillow Mask. I found this mask to be much better than the full face mask, but I have not tried it yet when I have a head cold !

Intus comment: We recommend having a full face mask on standby for such an occasion, so best hang on to your old one.

The Best Mask I have Tried. I have tried a number of Masks over the last couple of years but would strongly recommend this mask. Its easy to fit and very comfortable. It is fully adjustable and after a couple of nights it provides trouble free sleep.

Didn’t like it. I purchased the Brevida to compare against the Dreamwear. The Brevida was comfortable until I switched on the CPAP. Unfortunately it froze m6 nostrils so I ended up pulling it off my face several times as just couldn’t tolerate it. I have reverted back to the Dreamwear.

Very comfortable. Having tried a number of different masks over the years and given up on all of them, I decided to try this one. Absolutely wonderful! Very comfortable, quiet and doesn’t leak either. This has transformed my CPAP experience and will enable me to use my machine every night. Thank you to the designer.

Unexpectedly good. I wasn’t expecting too much from this, as it seemed so minimal, that how could it work properly? But it does. Very comfortable, seals well, and not having your head all strapped up is great. Top mask.

report about the Brevida. I have tried about nine different masks and hated them all so the Brevida was my last chance before I gave up altogether. However, I am delighted to report I really like it and I no longer dread going to bed. Altho I realise no masks are great as its such an unnatural thing to have on your face but for me its the best by far

Probably the most SILENT mask available. This is a very good mask. My first word of advice is to order the Fit Pack, as it contains two cushions to try – you really need a good fit and you cannot be completely sure until you try both.

I have tried several masks, and I can honestly say that this is the QUIETEST mask available. The diffuser at the front is just brilliant – no jet of air bothering your bed partner, or making a loud noise as the air hits the pillow or your blanket (noise is the main problem with the otherwise very good ResMed N-20, by the way).

I had to return it as the cushion was hurting the inside of my nostrils – what a pity. However, many other people do not report the same problem.

I wore it on top of a ResMed Chin Restraint; the headgear helped to keep the chinstrap perfectly in place.

    Big Dave

Does what it says on the tin.. I had a full face mask and could not handle it. Say this one ordered it at 3:00 in afternoon can following morning. You can’t get better than that. I got 9 hours of therapy that night and on average 8 hours. My F&P machine is the latest on NHS with the full F&P maxplus (hated it) if you can handle the maxplus then brilliant I can’t so I paid for the brevidia as I was going on holiday. Best £127 I’ve spent.10/10. DS from Lancashire.

Surprisingly effective. Unfortunately I am one of those people who have difficulty with masks and their comfort, and when I ordered this nasal pillow it was a bit of a last resort as I had no faith that a nasal pillow would suit my needs. When I opened it and saw the minimal head strap and no chin strap I was even more convinced it would not work. However I have to admit to being pleasantly surprised. It is comfortable, lightweight, a good fit, and during sleep doesn’t seem to move around as I expected. The head strap is effective and there was no need for a chin strap. There was a small amount of irritation to my nostrils for a couple of days, but nothing I couldn’t manage and its no longer a problem. I m still convinced it shouldn’t work, but my sleep data disagrees with me and so far I have had the best figures this month using this mask. If you are unsure about trying a nasal pillow, don’t be. Try one out, this one has worked for me.
