What is the SoClean 2 CPAP Sanitiser?

The SoClean 2 CPAP Sanitiser is a cutting-edge device designed to simplify the process of cleaning and sanitising your CPAP equipment. It’s specifically created for individuals who rely on CPAP therapy to manage Sleep Apnoea. The device kills 99.9% of germs and bacteria in the mask, hose and reservoir without the need for disassembly, water or messy chemicals. It’s the safer, healthier way to breathe cleaner and have a better CPAP experience.

The device has a sleek design with an easy-to-read front display and indicator lights throughout the cleaning cycle and has a 2-year warranty.

How does the SoClean 2 work?

The SoClean uses activated oxygen cleaning to eliminate germs and bacteria lingering in your CPAP apparatus and gives you a much cleaner machine. Oxygen cleaning is the same sanitising process used in water purification, hospitals, and product handling.

It takes only a minute to start the cleansing process, and you can use your CPAP again immediately afterwards.

Key Features:

  • Automated Cleaning: The device uses activated oxygen to eliminate 99.9% of germs and bacteria in your CPAP mask, tubing, and reservoir without the need for water or harsh chemicals.
  • Hassle-Free Operation: With its user-friendly interface, this device makes sanitising your equipment as easy as pressing a button. Simply place your CPAP mask inside, close the lid, and let the machine do the rest.
  • Adaptive Technology: The device adapts to fit most CPAP machines and masks, making it a versatile choice for Sleep Apnoea patients. It’s compatible with popular brands, ensuring you can enjoy clean and hygienic therapy without compatibility concerns.
  • Clinical Validation: The machine has been clinically validated to effectively reduce the risk of infection, giving you peace of mind regarding your health.
  • Easily Maintained: The filters only need to be changed every six months. Spare parts and accessories are also readily available.
  • Sleek design: The device has a tiny footprint of just 28 cm x 28 cm (11 inches x 11 inches)
  • Front LCD display: The front LCD display features a status indicator, providing real-time feedback so you can monitor the cleaning cycle. A count-down timer informs you of the remaining time left on the cleaning cycle, and a cycle completion notification lets you know that the process is complete.
  • Low-Risk: A 2-year warranty and 30-day money-back guarantee are provided for peace of mind.
  • Travel ready: Features UK & EU Adapter plugs.
  • Versatile: Place the device to suit your routine, with a left or right hose insertion option.

Why sanitising your equipment is so important

Apart from moisture, with daily use, bacteria and germs from your skin, sweat, body oils and the surrounding air are deposited on and in your CPAP machine and mask. Ineffective cleaning can leave these contaminants behind, potentially leading to other health issues.

If you are experiencing red marks and skin irritation from your CPAP mask, it could be caused by bacteria buildup.

Over time, the mask material degrades, creating microscopic pockets that are the perfect home for bacteria. Even the most thorough cleaning is unlikely to remove all the bacteria, so a visibly clean mask can be home to bacteria and cause red marks and irritation.

When using CPAP, all the air entering your lungs first travels through your machine, tube and mask. While mask cleaning is relatively easy, keeping the machine and tubing bacteria-free is not. The SoClean 2 makes a near-impossible task simple, so you can always ensure your equipment is hygienic and odour-free.

Advice: This is a complimentary device and does not replace the need to clean your equipment routinely.

Who are SoClean?

SoClean Inc. has been changing the CPAP experience of CPAP users for over 10 years and is committed to improving the lives of individuals with Obstructive Sleep Apnoea (OSA) and other sleep disorders. Their revolutionary cleansing device offers the most effective CPAP disinfecting method available.

Has SoClean 2 been recalled?

The SoClean 2 devices were not and have not been recalled. Confusion has arisen from a statement made by Philips Respironics in 2021 when they had to recall their DreamStation CPAP machine. Philips claimed that “cleaning methods such as Ozone may have contributed to foam degradation” in their machines.

Although never proven, this claim adversely affected the reputation of this device. The machine remains a safe and effective way to clean and sanitise your CPAP equipment. For more detailed information on this, please see our article ‘Is SoClean 2 Safe to Use?

Does SoClean use ozone?

The SoClean uses Ionized oxygen. The device charges oxygen particles and creates O3. It then pushes the activated oxygen through the tubing and inside the reservoir of the CPAP machine, before sending it back to the machine. All the components include the mask, tubing, and the reservoir are cleaned. Activated oxygen kills bacteria, viruses, mold and fungus.
