Somnibel Sleep Therapy Trainer & Anti-Snoring Device

The Somnibel Positional Sleep Therapy Trainer provides a simple, comfortable solution for snoring and Positional Obstructive Sleep Apnoea (POSA).

Many Sleep Apnoea patients only experience the symptoms while sleeping on their back and not on their side; this is called Positional Sleep Apnoea. This happens due to the tongue and soft tissues of the upper airway relaxing when sleeping on your back. The relaxation can block the airflow, creating apnoea events (breathing interruption episodes). Most people with this type of Sleep Apnoea will not experience these episodes when sleeping on their side as the tongue and soft tissues do not fall back.

The Somnibel offers an effective, non-invasive alternative to CPAP therapy.

How the Somnibel Works

Somnibel is a small, effective Positional Therapy device which is worn on the forehead. It vibrates whenever you roll over onto your back and face upward, gently encouraging you to roll back over to sleep on your side.

The Somnibel is a clinically proven treatment alternative to CPAP therapy, with studies showing it can obtain similar results in patients with position-dependent Sleep Apnoea.

We are confident you will join the thousands of people benefiting from this simple, unobtrusive and effective method of treatment.

Similarly to this, many snorers will only snore when lying on their back or stomach, as it causes the throat muscles to fall back, obstructing the airflow. When sleeping on your side, your airway stays open, preventing snoring and apnoea events. The Somnibel is a comfortable anti-snoring device and an effective CPAP alternative.

Can sleep position stop snoring?

Yes, changing your sleep position can help to stop snoring. The position in which you sleep can affect the likelihood of snoring, as certain positions can cause your airway to become partially blocked, leading to snoring.

Sleeping on your back can cause your tongue and soft palate to collapse to the back of your throat, partially obstructing your airway and leading to snoring. If you sleep on your stomach, the position can put strain on your neck and cause your throat muscles to relax, again leading to partial airway obstruction and snoring.

Sleeping on your side can help to reduce snoring by keeping your airway open. Using a body pillow to support your back and keeping your spine aligned can also help to reduce snoring.

It’s also a good idea to talk to your doctor if you’re concerned about snoring, as it can sometimes be a sign of a more serious underlying problem, such as Sleep Apnoea.

Can I travel with my Somnibel?

Somnibel is designed to be compact and lightweight, making it easy to travel with. Whether you are taking a small cabin bag or a large suitcase, the device will fit neatly within your luggage. In the event of any security queries, we would advise taking the product packaging with you.

Will the vibrations wake me up?

The vibrations are very mild and gradual, Somnibel’s positional trainer adapters to each user through it’s detecting which level of intensity out of the 4 options is most suitable. After only 15 minutes the device will start working after being activated, providing enough time to drift off to sleep in your position of preference. The vibrations will not trigger any sleep fragmentation.

I have sensitive skin is this suitable for me?

Yes, the adhesives are hypoallergenic and has been widely tested and proven safe to use on many users. If you are concerned about the connection of the adhesive to the device you can check to see if the device is displaying any green and yellow light flashing intermittently every 0.5 seconds or so. This light will indicate the adhesive is not attached correctly and you will need to reapply the device and adhesive.

How do I clean the device?

To clean your Somnibel and its battery charger you can wipe softly with a damp cloth in soapy water (neutral soap) or 96º surgical spirit. Then, leave the device or charger to air dry. Internal parts and connecting parts should never get wet. This can damage the device and effect the warranty and life span of the device. After 3 years it is advised to replace your device.
